Create a section to give the ability to see the cost of living in a city as well as having the option to compare two cities.
This design was done during a 3 days sprint for Talent.com. I received the brief in a simple e-mail and needed to answer aas soon as possible.
Lead Product Design at Talent.com
"In this section, we should be able to see the cost of living in a city as well as having the option to compare two cities. I invite you to check out our website and follow our design and brand, but also to be as creative as you’d like”
DescriptionAs the deadline was very short, and I have in my network a lot of people who have already lived abroad, I started to ask questions directly to them.
Once I've understood a bit better the context, I refined every details with ChatGPT.
Everything was centralized in a Notion database.
— Who are the users?
— Who are the expatriates?
— What is the average age?
— List 3 types of expats?
— Why do they want to live abroad ?
— How can I find infos about cost of living?
— Do you know other online calculators ?
— What this the best cost of living calculator ?
...
DescriptionFor this specific scenario, Talent.com wants to connect with the young professionals. They do not have strong attach in the country they are currently living in and they are looking for a career opportunity or a potential lower cost of living.
I had already used tech, banking and insurance comparators, and I'm used to create easy to read datavisualisation. But, it was the first time I had to work on a cost-to-live challenge and I wasn't sure which information were the most important to see.

I liked the recent comparison
pre-filled forms, summary at the top, link to the salary calculation, lot of examples BUT I disliked the graphic without clear datas and the absence of contextualisation.
I liked the summary at the top, the comment section BUT I disliked because the page was difficult to read, the tack of hierarchy and contrast issues in the summary.
I liked the precision of the website and the module “start exploring” BUT I disliked the infinite number of filters, felt the website hard to understand as their was too much informations.
I think user reviews can be interesting and they share various informations BUT it's complicated to fit a city into box, there are too much informations and the website was tech oriented
I wanted to make sure the new section will integrate properly in the current website, and make sure it was not only about cost-to-leave but serve the business as well.
Before crafting any designs, I created the flow with all the structure and content hierarchy, to make sure the story worked well.
The objective was to inspire young professionals and ignite their desire to live abroad. This presents a significant opportunity for Talent.com's product, as employment is the first consideration for anyone contemplating such a move.
I won the pitch.
I owned each step of the project, the discovery (meeting with potential customers, used novative technology to fasten my pace), analyze the market and the brand, create the flows, the mockups and the prototypes.
Since 2018 I had the opportunity to work on design systems, customer experience, back-office, b2b projects, b2c projects, luxury and consumer goods. Discover my other works in the list below.
