Spring 2023 marks the beginning of a new adventure. My family and I have relocated from Paris, France to the island of Montréal, Canada, starting a new chapter in our lives. Let's shoot this new country with fresh eyes!
Awakening after the ice storm
We arrived a few days after the severe ice storm that occurred in April 2023. Trees were broken, driving was dangerous due to the ice, and many Montrealers were left without power. This left them without access to heat, refrigeration, cooking, hot water, or the ability to work remotely.
Spring fresh city-vibe
Although the recent episodes were violent, we discovered a peaceful city where people were enjoying outdoor activities such as barbecues, picnics, and slacklining in the parks. This was quite similar to the European activities we might have in Europe.
My beginning as a photographer
As some may know, I am currently learning more about photography. Exploring new environments is one of the best ways to experiment with a camera. Reading these lines and the following articles can help you follow my progress. If you have any knowledge to share with me, such as camera settings, ideal spots, tips, and tricks, please leave your comments or send me a private message on your preferred platform.
We enjoyed the fresh spring weather as we ventured out into our new surroundings and found ourselves surrounded by the iconic landscape of Mount Royal, the natural centerpiece of the city.
I captured images of the city's eastern neighborhoods and landmarks, including Mile End, Downtown, the Old Port, the Olympic Stadium, and Little Italy.
